Police discovered nearly 250 cannabis plants in Haslingden during Operation Mille targeting gang cannabis farms.

They found over 2,200 cannabis plants. The police did 14 raids across the county. Raids happened in Blackburn and Haslingden.
This was part of Operation Mille. It targets cannabis production by gangs. In Haslingden, they found an illegal farm. It was in an industrial unit.
Police discovered nearly 250 plants there. It was spread over two floors. Living spaces were built inside as well. About 100 plants got seized in Thornton Cleveleys. Another 70 plants were at a Blackpool place.
Nine people got arrested for drug crimes. A police detective said they want to stop it. He said cannabis farms link to bigger crimes.
These crimes include violence and mistreatment. It also boosts other bad stuff. Examples are drug dealing and human slavery. He added that those who tend to the plants are often at risk.
They can also be slavery victims. Cannabis farms damage buildings too. This is because of fire risks and stolen electricity. There can be dangerous fumes and water issues as well.
