Lavenham’s St Peter and St Paul’s celebrates 500 years of its tower with a year of events. Concerts, talks and a fair are planned.

Lots of stuff is happening in 2025. Concerts and history talks are planned. A Tudor fair will offer family fun. The Friends of Lavenham Church organized it all.
Reverend Simon Pitcher spoke about the events. He said they want to include everyone. They’re celebrating the tower’s history and showcasing its role in town.
The tower was built when the town thrived. They hope it stands another 500 years. Lavenham Church’s website has event details, which you can find at lavenham.church/500-years-of-lavenham-church.
The tower took forty years to construct, finishing in 1525. It is very tall, over 140 feet. People think it’s one of the tallest.
The tower honors King Henry VII and Elizabeth. They were honored after a big battle. Six rich families paid for the tower, including the de Veres and Springs.
A festival is happening this summer for the church’s special saint. Spring family descendants will come. Richard Spring and Dick Spring will be there.
