A major water leak forces all 437 residents of The Filigree in Lewisham to evacuate until repairs are completed.

The landlord, Get Living, reported a major water supply issue that hit the energy center. This center powers three buildings in the complex. It happened last Thursday, February 27th.
The water leak caused huge flooding in the basement, cutting off water and power to some homes. All 437 residents must move out right away. They need to find temporary places to stay for now.
The leak also damaged the emergency generator’s electrical panel, and the damage was actually pretty bad. People must stay elsewhere until at least March 19th. They need to fix everything first.
One guy moved in six months ago and called Get Living’s communication “unacceptable.” He learned about the extended stay from ICAB, which handles Get Living’s emergency housing. He first went to stay with his parents, who live in Milton Keynes.
Now, he will find a new place near his London job. He said people are staying in Travelodges and Premier Inns. Finding hotel rooms is hard for some residents, especially people with pets and those with medical conditions.
Being far from work is also causing stress. Residents can get £150 to book other lodging, and Airbnb could be an option. People with friends or family get £50 each night, plus £30 a day for food.
Get Living talks with Muse and Balfour Beatty to fix it right away. They need to understand the full damage first, and then they can restore services. Get Living said sorry for the trouble, and they know it is frustrating for residents.
Muse also said they are working closely with Get Living now. The priority is resident safety. Muse needs to know the damage and next steps, so they can restore services safely. They also apologized for the disruption. Balfour Beatty has been asked to comment.
