Woman banned for 40 months after driving offences, including drunk driving and speeding.

These charges included drunk driving and failing to stop for police. She drove without insurance twice. Marvelley also refused to give a breath sample. She sped in a 30mph zone.
The prosecutor described her most recent crimes, which happened on July 4 last year. At that time, police were checking speeds on the A148 and noticed Marvelley speeding there. This road’s speed limit is 30mph, but Marvelley drove 53mph.
Police signaled her to stop, but she sped away instead. Officers turned on their lights and followed her car. The Volkswagen Passat then stopped, and Marvelley tried running from police. Her unique look helped officers find her.
Earlier, on June 8, police saw a dog unsecured in Marvelley’s car. She drove and parked on Donkey Pond Hill. Officers asked her to take a breath test, and it showed she was over the limit.
Her breath alcohol level was 55mcg, where the legal limit is just 35mcg. During her arrest, she became upset and initially refused to provide a test. Police confirmed she had no insurance those times.
Her lawyer stated Marvelley is an alcoholic who went through a hard time after her boyfriend passed away last year. She knows she is in a bad situation and wants to improve with her addiction. She is motivated and a hard worker.
The court disqualified Marvelley from driving for 40 months. She also got an 18-month community order including rehab days and alcohol treatment. She must do 150 hours of unpaid work.
