Lili was found hurt near her cafe on March 3. This happened around 11:30 am on Mare Street, where she worked.

Medics arrived, but they could not save her. She died soon after, and people left flowers, candles, and photos, which now sit outside the cafe.

Freddie Charles, Lili’s neighbor, knew her well. Lili came from Moldova and lived close by with her son, as reported by the Metro.

Freddie expressed her shock, describing Lili as a fantastic mom and a lovely person. Her son feels devastated by this loss.

Their sons are friends, and they have been neighbors for years. Freddie can’t believe Lili is gone. Lili worked at the cafe and was hit outside; Freddie does not know why she was outside.

Lili worked hard and loved to sing back in Moldova. This is a very sad loss, as she truly was a lovely person. Ms. Charles told the Metro that the roadworks make the area dangerous.

She thinks something must change and that road safety needs improvement there. She usually bikes but walked instead because it’s just too dangerous right now.

John Choi called Lili bubbly and lovely, having seen her three days before. John, a sales rep for Coke, visited her cafe Friday and asked if they needed anything; it’s truly heartbreaking to him.
