Stamford Lions Club donates £1,000 to Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance after the Christmas tree festival.

The St John’s Church in Stamford hosted it. They have a Christmas Tree Festival each year where businesses and charities decorate trees; this makes a nice winter scene for visitors.
The festival lasted two weeks in December. The church also hosted a pop-up shop, and people enjoyed the trees and made donations.
The air ambulance was this year’s charity. People donated about nine hundred pounds, and the Lions Club increased it to one thousand.
Caroline Barnes accepted the donation; she works for the air ambulance. The money helps fund daily operations and goes towards the air ambulance’s work, as they need the best equipment possible.
The Lions also donated to a roller derby team. Some team members play for Great Britain and will compete in Australia’s World Cup.
The Stamford Lions Club started in 1975. They make audio versions of a local paper, organize Rock on the Rec, and help Father Christmas visit too.
