Bruno Kelmendi and Petronela Popovici were found not guilty after a trial related to possessing £11,180 deemed criminal property.

These two, along with another man, were stopped in Oxford on August 16, 2022. Police officers found £11,180 in their car, which authorities say was a Mercedes.
Bruno and Petronela denied any wrongdoing, leading to a trial. The car was stopped in Cowley at 1:30 p.m. Bruno was driving, with Petronela as his passenger, and the other man sat in the back.
Police searched the car and found cash. They located £1,250 in British Pounds and £10,560 in Isle of Man currency, totaling £11,180.
During questioning, Petronela told police her husband asked her to go exchange money. She claimed she did not know the money’s origin and was just keeping him company.
Petronela further stated she had no idea what was happening. She added that if she knew the money was tainted, she would not have gone along.
Bruno and Petronela, a couple from Barnet, London, were found not guilty by a jury. The court dismissed them, freeing them to go with no further action.
