Plans unveiled for a 34-story tower next to London Heliport, including apartments and affordable housing.

The tower would sit on Lombard Road. It’s right by the Thames River. Plans include up to 147 apartments. Shops and businesses might be on the ground floor.
This new tower will replace older buildings. There’s an empty office building called Heliport House. Also, two old industrial garages will go.
The council once approved a similar plan. In 2014, they wanted a 15-story tower. That one had no affordable homes. It never actually got built.
This new plan is a bit different. The tower will be taller this time. It will include affordable housing. Thirty-five percent will be affordable, based on room size.
London Heliport Ltd told Wandsworth Council about the plans. It happened back in November. They wanted to know if they needed an environmental report. The formal application is still coming.
The company made a website about the plans. They want to get some feedback. People can share their thoughts, as they have an online enquiry form.
The company said they’d replace ugly buildings. They think those buildings hurt the area now. They want an iconic and high-quality building. They also want to improve the waterfront path. The Thames Path behind the heliport will have better access. The company thinks this is great.
The developer believes it can improve design. They’re aiming for a very low carbon footprint. They feel this could set an example.
More info about the plans will come out later.
