New Wrexham to London train service gets backing from the Department of Transport, pending further analysis.

This service would run without government money and stop at several towns. These include Gobowen, Shrewsbury, Telford, Wolverhampton, and Milton Keynes. The Department of Transport sees benefits, believing it would help communities in different areas.
More analysis is needed, though. They must consider operational challenges, as the new trains must work around existing trains already going to Euston station.
Wrexham’s MP, Andrew Ranger, is happy, stating the Department of Transport agrees in principle. The trip to London would be just three hours. Network Rail must fully analyze this plan now, and the Office for Road and Rail will then decide.
Councillor David Bithell said things are moving well. He and Sam Rowlands MS met with the railway and are pleased with how things are going. The service could run five trains a day, which would greatly benefit North Wales.
Sam Rowlands MS also supports the plan. He is happy the Department of Transport is supportive, as better rail services are vital for Wrexham, North Wales’ largest town. Improved trains help boost our local economy.
