A lorry fire shut down a section of the A9 between Inverness and Perth. No injuries were reported, but delays are expected.

The A9 is still shut down close to Aviemore. A lorry caught fire earlier today, blocking the road between Inverness and Perth. The emergency call came in at 4:36 AM this morning.
Police and firefighters arrived quickly. Three fire trucks came from Inverness and Aviemore. The fire service says thankfully nobody got hurt, though there’s lots of traffic in both directions, making things slow.
A fire service guy said the truck fire looked bad initially. Turns out just a wheel caught fire. They used lots of water to put it out. Firefighters used two hose reels, an electric saw, and thermal imaging.
The fire service left at 6:26 AM, but police are still there now. AA Scotland reports the A9 is closed, creating heavy traffic delays. The closure stretches from the Aviemore turnoff to the A95. They suggest detouring using the B9152 through Aviemore and Kincraig.
