A man was fined after becoming aggressive with a woman who offered help after he fell on a Stagecoach bus.

Scott Alexander was on a Stagecoach bus when he fell because the bus stopped suddenly. This happened near Station Park in Lossiemouth on July 28, 2023. Other passengers helped the 54-year-old man who then exited the bus near Boyd Anderson Drive around 5:35 p.m. in Moray.
A 39-year-old woman saw him fall and suggested he get medical help. He reacted aggressively to her concern, trying to grab her while asking her name and a strange question: “Are you a lesbian?”
She attempted to walk away from him, heading toward the Lossiemouth Co-op, but Alexander followed her closely. She put her hand out to create space and tried to record him with her phone, at which point Alexander punched her left arm.
This made her very fearful, but a bystander noticed the problem and offered her a ride in his car. As they drove off, Alexander shouted.
Police arrived and found Alexander lying on the ground around 6 p.m., determining he was intoxicated. His lawyer said he didn’t remember the details of the incident and that it was hard to believe it had happened, conceding that lack of memory is no excuse.
Mr. Carty mentioned Alexander’s issues with drugs, health, and sleep problems, mentioning that these made him unfit for unpaid work.
Sheriff Lindsay Foulis fined Alexander £1200 and added a £75 victim surcharge. A separate matter involved drugs found at his home on July 28, 2022. He will be under supervision for six months because police found diamorphine and cannabis.
