Footpath repairs in Loughgall are hailed as a positive step, prompting calls for a broader village regeneration plan.

Carla Lockhart, a local MP, welcomed support. The support came from the Loughgall District Improvements Association. They helped to progress the footpath issue. The path work addresses safety and village appearance concerns.
Lockhart noted the work would begin soon. She also said more needs to happen in Loughgall. It is a historic village in County Armagh.
Lockhart stated residents feel frustrated the footpaths are in poor condition. This is hazardous and detracts from the village. She worked with the Department for Infrastructure (DfI) and with the Council to push for action.
The planned work is in the village center near the shop. Granite paving and new planters are planned. This investment helps restore pride and makes Loughgall more welcoming.
Lockhart thinks a Village Regeneration Plan is needed. This plan would renew all footpaths using high-quality granite paving. Loughgall needs good infrastructure to reflect the village’s history.
Lockhart appreciates the Improvement Association. Their dedication helped secure this progress. She enjoys working alongside them as they deliver improvements for the community.
Lockhart thanked the DfI and the Council as they listened to local concerns and are taking action. She will ensure further investment in Loughgall.
