Lovell Park’s social housing may be demolished. Residents would be relocated. New homes may offer better living.

The Harrison Potter Trust, a housing charity, wants to build. The Trust will talk to residents about moving. If the project happens, plans include relocating everyone, allowing tenants to return to the new apartments after the building work finishes.
Tenants may not want to move into the new flats. They would then get money for “home loss.” Also, they will find new homes with another provider. The old buildings would be demolished after everyone relocates.
The new building would be for people over 55 and will have four and six-story sections. There will be three blocks in total, and the design should help residents socialize.
The building will offer several helpful spaces, including a coffee bar, a scooter store, and a lounge. On-site management will have an office, according to the report written by DPP Planning.
Leeds City Council discussed this plan beforehand and is now reviewing the full application. The new homes should meet a growing need, as the city needs more housing for everyone.
The city recognizes the need for better housing, especially for older people. The development boosts affordable housing by 170 percent and will also improve the housing standards.
