Bridge work causes M4 Theale closure from Friday night to Monday morning. Expect delays and follow diversion routes.

The bridge will be closed then. It shuts at 9 PM on February 28, a Friday, and reopens at 6 AM, March 3, a Monday. This affects the east bridge of the interchange; M4 entry roads will be affected.
The M4 will have lane closures at night in both directions. National Highways wants the bridge in good shape, and they plan for it to last for years.
The work can cause problems. It could create delays and traffic, so they ask drivers to be patient then. Drivers need to plan extra travel time, and check your route before you leave.
Traffic will go a different way via A4 Bath Road, Rose Kiln Lane, then to A33 plus A339 Ringway North. After that it uses A340 Aldermaston Road, and finally A340 Basingstoke Road to M4 junction 12.
If you want to join the M4, follow signs when entry roads are closed. Keep going until M4 junction 11. The bridge work is part of a bigger plan, and they aim to improve the M4 condition.
