The M5 southbound will close for four nights between Wellington and Cullompton for resurfacing work. Expect delays and plan ahead.

The closure starts Friday, February 21 and ends Tuesday morning, February 25. Each night, the closure runs from 9 PM to 6 AM. Northbound will stay open between junctions 28 and 26.
They have set up detours for M5 traffic. Use the A38 and B3181 routes instead. They expect to finish the M5 work in the coming months, which includes creating a new concrete base layer.
In addition to these four nights, expect another closure; the M5 southbound exit slip road at junction 27 will close. This closure lasts from February 21 (9 PM) to February 24 (6 AM).
National Highways stated the M5 will close overnight, occurring from 9 PM to 6 AM. The road will open during the day for normal traffic. They are repairing the concrete base layer near Willand at junction 27.
Two lanes are open each way using the southbound side, creating a contraflow setup for traffic. They plan to finish the road work before Easter 2025. Drivers should follow the A38 and B3181 diversion.
