Three men were arrested on the M62 after fleeing a burglary attempt on a Liverpool home. Police investigation ongoing.

Around 9:25 AM, police got a call reporting a van backed into a driveway by Smithdown Road, near Liverpool. People in the van damaged CCTV cameras and tried to get inside the house.
Police shared the van’s details, and the matrix vehicle team saw it heading out of Liverpool on Edge Lane. Traffic police then stopped the van on the M62 near Burtonwood Services.
A police dog helped, and they arrested three men, all suspected of burglary. The arrested men are from different cities: one is 41, from Bradford; another is 32, from Leeds; and the last is 39, from Rotherham.
Police took all three to stations for questioning and then bailed them with conditions. The investigation continues now.
Chief Inspector McIver spoke about this, stating that crime prevention helped them. He said information reached police quickly, and officers stopped the suspects on the highway.
McIver mentioned an ongoing investigation and recommends residents get CCTV, especially if it sends alerts. It notifies people when someone is at their house, he noted.
Burglary causes victims much distress. Operation Castle is a dedicated unit that investigates these crimes. If anyone has any information, please come forward, and police will investigate.
