A restaurant worker described a scary experience. He heard someone trying to break in late at night. This happened at the Spice Hut in Maidstone. The incident occurred around 3 AM yesterday morning.

Muhammad Rubel works at the restaurant. He has worked there for fourteen years. He was about to cook his pre-fasting meal when he heard the back door knob twisting. The power had also been cut off.

Muhammad said he felt lucky. He and his colleagues were eating at 4 AM for Ramadan, so he could call the police because they were there. Police arrived really fast.

He said it was very scary. He didn’t know what would have happened. The kitchen’s power was out, too, but luckily, they restored the power quickly, so they didn’t need to throw away refrigerated food.

The restaurant worried about canceling reservations. Thankfully, they are using a generator now. Officers at the scene found a suspect in the alley next to Spice Hut.

A 40-year-old man got arrested. He is from Maidstone and was arrested for several suspected offenses, including going equipped to steal and criminal damage.

Police seized a wiring-filled bag containing bolt cutters and other tools. The suspect is currently out on bail, with conditions pending investigation results.
