A 40-year-old man was arrested in Maidstone after attempting to burgle Spice Hut restaurant. He is now out on bail.

Muhammad Rubel works at the restaurant. He has worked there for fourteen years. He was about to cook his pre-fasting meal when he heard the back door knob twisting. The power had also been cut off.
Muhammad said he felt lucky. He and his colleagues were eating at 4 AM for Ramadan, so he could call the police because they were there. Police arrived really fast.
He said it was very scary. He didn’t know what would have happened. The kitchen’s power was out, too, but luckily, they restored the power quickly, so they didn’t need to throw away refrigerated food.
The restaurant worried about canceling reservations. Thankfully, they are using a generator now. Officers at the scene found a suspect in the alley next to Spice Hut.
