Maisie Bulmer is hosting a charity ball. It celebrates ten years of supporting cancer charities. The event will also raise awareness for the Anthony Nolan register.

Maisie is now 26 years old. When she was 16, they diagnosed her with cancer. This happened in May 2014; the cancer was non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

She finished chemo in October 2014. On Christmas Eve, doctors said the cancer returned. She had chemo and radiotherapy again and stayed in isolation for six weeks.

The cancer came back again the next April, and a bone marrow transplant became the only choice.

At 18, a donor from Germany was found. Medication damaged her kidneys permanently. She had dialysis for five years, and Maisie received a kidney transplant in 2022.

Despite her illness, she raised over £30,000 for charities. She finished a B-Tech early at Bishop Burton College. Maisie chairs Ryedale District Young Farmers’ Club.

She loves her work at Chippindale Foods Ltd. She oversees egg production for Morrisons supermarkets. The charity ball is on March 22 at York Racecourse.

Her family from Salton is helping her organize it; money raised will go to three charities: Teenage Cancer Trust, Anthony Nolan, and Kidney Research Yorkshire.

Maisie’s mom, Wendy, and sister, Rosie Wall, are selling tickets, which cost £60 each. The event includes dinner and dancing, and they seek business sponsors and raffle prizes.

Maisie promotes registering with Anthony Nolan. She advocates for organ donation and giving blood.

Wendy said marking this milestone feels important. They want to celebrate Maisie’s progress, and Maisie picked charities that greatly impacted her life. They aim to raise awareness and funds.

Rosie Wall can be reached for information at 07522 824241. You can also contact them via email at maisiescharityball@yahoo.com.

Maisie said the funds will help many people. Her family held a similar ball ten years ago.
