Large fire near national stadium. Smoke spreads, locals advised to close windows.

Firefighters worked hard to stop the fire, as smoke spread over the Principality Stadium and city. Emergency services rushed to the scene this morning. The fire started in a housing unit facing the stadium, which holds 74,500 people, and caused serious property damage.
Luckily, nobody got hurt in the fire that started around midnight last night. Large parts of the building suffered damage, including the roof which got badly damaged as well.
Residents in Cardiff Bay must take safety measures now. Firefighters said smoke traveled there, and they asked people to keep doors and windows shut.
The fire was near the stadium on Fitzhamon Embankment. They will investigate to find the cause, and although crews left, they will check for flare-ups.
Holly Chadd stayed at a hotel nearby and saw the fire start when she went to bed, initially thinking it was a police operation. She went outside, walked to the river, and then saw the fire and fire brigade.
A Cardiff Bay resident smelled smoke inside at 2 AM, despite the windows being closed! The smoke lingered in the sky this morning. Another person in central Cardiff smelled lots of smoke that was thick and drifting everywhere, saying it looked like a fire in Cardiff. They suggested closing windows and using air purifiers.
