A £2.2M project will transform Ham Hill Country Park with a new visitor center, educational resources, and improved conservation.

Work starts next month. They will connect water and power to where the new visitor center will be, near the Lime Kiln Car Park.
The visitor center’s build starts in March. They want to finish by autumn. The center will have a café and changing room facilities.
Permanent displays will show Ham Hill’s history. Interactive things will teach everyone. The project also helps local schools, and community groups will benefit too.
They will get educational things to use. Somerset Council added two rangers to work with current staff. They will protect Ham Hill’s nature and history.
Their work covers several things, including saving heritage and growing nature. They will also work with locals, who will enjoy visits. A council member, Grahame Oakes, is excited.
He wants visitors to see the good changes and stated they want Ham Hill accessible so people can learn about nature and history there. This historical place will be saved, and wild animals can thrive too.
This project can inspire others in Somerset and will showcase ways to protect heritage. The council wants a greener Somerset. They aim to boost sustainable tourism.
They thanked the Heritage Fund, and other donors earned gratitude too. Their support made the project possible. The project protects Ham Hill’s archaeology.
It will show off Europe’s largest Iron Age fort. They hope to improve habitat care, which supports many species and nature. Exhibits will teach about Ham Hill’s history, its geology, and wildlife.
