John Driver suggested keeping free parking. He presented recommendations. These came from the strategy committee. He wanted no parking fees in Burnham car parks.
Adrian Fluker questioned the process. He asked why they didn’t ask the surgery first. He wondered why groups changed their minds. They previously agreed to the parking fees.
Fluker said officers were in a tough spot. They had to present an unsupported report. He stated officers should not be in that position. He felt sorry for one officer in particular. Burnham residents are very worried. Two groups supported parking fees, but they stayed quiet at the committee meeting.
