Hey, something crazy happened! It involved dogs and guns, sadly. One dog died. Another dog got hurt and needed a vet.

This happened near Great Barrow, in a field off Barn House Lane at 3 PM on Wednesday, February 12.

These dogs belonged to the Cheshire Forest Hunt, based in Peover, though they operate all over the area. The hunt called it a very sad event.

Police arrested a 63-year-old guy, believing he used a gun to scare others. He got released on bail while they check things out.

The hunt can’t say much right now, citing an ongoing police investigation into a distressing event near Great Barrow. They emphasized that staff look after the dogs.

Hunting wild animals with dogs is illegal, but trail hunting is okay. In trail hunting, someone makes a scent, and then the dogs follow it.

Police are asking for information about the incident. Cheshire Police received a call on February 12 mentioning dogs shot at.

One dog died from being shot, and a second dog was hurt and treated by a vet. Police arrested a man for firearms possession and causing fear of violence. He will reappear on bail later, on Monday, May 12. If you know anything, call Cheshire Police and quote IML 2025874.
