A man was arrested after dogs from Cheshire Forest Hunt were shot at; one dog died and another was injured.

This happened near Great Barrow, in a field off Barn House Lane at 3 PM on Wednesday, February 12.
These dogs belonged to the Cheshire Forest Hunt, based in Peover, though they operate all over the area. The hunt called it a very sad event.
Police arrested a 63-year-old guy, believing he used a gun to scare others. He got released on bail while they check things out.
The hunt can’t say much right now, citing an ongoing police investigation into a distressing event near Great Barrow. They emphasized that staff look after the dogs.
Hunting wild animals with dogs is illegal, but trail hunting is okay. In trail hunting, someone makes a scent, and then the dogs follow it.
