A man arrested in Greengates for alleged sexual contact with a child has been bailed; a teen faces charges for assaulting officers.
A child abuse activist group, Child Online Safety Team, detained a man. The group has a big Facebook following and found him near the Asda store.
The group said they called police earlier, reporting him before visiting his home. More calls went out after they detained him, and a crowd started to gather around 10 PM.
Three officers showed up initially but then requested emergency backup. Things got rough when they tried to arrest him, planning to put him in the car.
Police arrested a 27-year-old man for possible sexual contact with a child. The man was later released on bail while police continue investigating the case.
The Child Online Safety Team disapproves of the violent events. The group believes police were too slow, stating that had the police acted sooner, this wouldn’t have happened.
The group mentioned helping identify people if needed. An 18-year-old, Jayden Peel, also faces charges for assaulting emergency workers and resisting arrest.
Peel was granted bail and must appear in court on March 14 at Bradford Magistrates Court. The incident caused problems for everyone involved.
