Man charged with murder after fire kills a mother and her three children, aged 1, 5, and 9, in Bradford
Sharaz Ali, 39, faces charges of four murders and attempted murder. His court appearance is scheduled for this morning at Bradford Magistrates Court. Two other men, Mohammed Shabir, 44, and Calum Sunderland, 25, are also involved.
Both Mohammed Shabir and Calum Sunderland will face trial beginning on Tuesday and have pleaded not guilty to murder.
The fire occurred early on August 21, quickly engulfing the home. Emergency services received a call at 2:07 a.m., and Bryonie was sadly pronounced dead at the scene at 2:47 a.m.
Jonathan Birtle, the children’s dad, described himself as absolutely distraught. He cherished their life together deeply and spoke fondly of Bryonie and his kids.
Jonathan said Bryonie was a loving mom and a beautiful woman. He loved Denisty, Oscar, and Aubree and said he would gladly take their place, adding that he cannot imagine life without them and that they remain forever in his heart.
