James Morgan got arrested. He is 36 and lives in Marlborough. Police arrested him at his home just after 8 PM on February 25. The arrest was for a hoax call that targeted Badbury Park Primary School that afternoon.

Morgan went to court in Swindon on February 27, a Thursday. They charged him with sharing false information. Police responded quickly to the call and went to Rainscombe Road rapidly, starting an evacuation around 2:15 PM.

Students, teachers, and locals were evacuated from the area. A large cordon, 200 meters long, was put in place and lasted hours. Specialist police and dogs searched the school. Residents returned home around 8:21 PM. Morgan is due back in court soon, on March 28, at Swindon Crown Court.

Police Superintendent Steve Cox spoke out, saying hoax calls are very serious. They take emergency workers away from real emergencies. The police investigation was rapid and shows zero tolerance. He thanked the public for their patience and hopes the arrest is reassuring, showing commitment to Wiltshire’s safety.

The magistrate, Ms. Flew, denied Morgan bail in court and he will stay in custody until his next court date. This happened despite arguments presented for his release on bail, but she still remanded him.
