A 63 year old man died after an assault outside a London Wetherspoons pub Saturday. Police have arrested a suspect.

The man died later at a hospital. Police think he was assaulted, suspecting a disturbance at the pub led to it.
A 42-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and is still in police custody. Detective Chief Inspector Magee spoke about the incident, which occurred in busy southeast London, asking witnesses to come forward.
He urges anyone with information about the pub or Lewisham High Street to speak up. Police were present at the scene overnight and more police will be in the area to gather evidence.
The police understand community concern, noting they have a suspect in custody and do not think the public faces more danger.
