A 40-year-old man died after colliding with an ambulance on the A96 east of Elgin. Police seek witnesses.

The crash occurred around 3:30 AM east of Elgin. The road stayed closed for investigation and reopened around 1:20 PM, lasting about ten hours.
Police say the ambulance was answering an emergency call. The pedestrian was taken to a hospital, but sadly, he passed away soon after. They are now investigating circumstances of the incident.
Sergeant Dave Cooper offered his condolences and wants to support the man’s family. Police have been doing a lot of local investigating and want to hear from witnesses who saw the ambulance or man beforehand.
Police ask drivers with dashcams to check recordings from the A96 between 3:00 and 3:30 AM and share any important details with the police.
