A 75-year-old man has died following an assault near Seven Sisters Road. Three teenage girls are in custody.
Yesterday, emergency services went to the scene around 11:35 p.m. They found him injured there and rushed him to the hospital. His condition was critical, but sadly, police say he died.
They will formally identify him soon, plus a post-mortem exam is also coming. Three teenage girls got arrested as suspects in a serious attack; they are 14, 16, and 17.
Police are reviewing their charges now that the man has died. The girls are still in custody, and police continue investigating the case.
A police supervisor, Annmarie Cowley, spoke, saying she knows people are worried. She assures everyone they are investigating, adding that more police are patrolling the area and are available to discuss concerns.
DCI Paul Waller leads the investigation and said specialists are working fast to determine what happened. They are examining all leads, including CCTV and forensic work.
