A 74-year-old man got hurt after a parking ticket disagreement involving a traffic warden. Peter Elliott was taking grandkids to school on January 17. He parked near a pavement crossover outside St Ursula’s school in Romford, east London.

A traffic warden appeared by Peter’s car and gave him a parking ticket for alleged obstruction. Peter, a former lorry driver, disagreed, saying he often parked there while waiting for his daughter’s return. The warden suddenly took a picture and said Peter was getting a ticket.

Peter and the warden started arguing; Peter tried to photograph the warden too. The disagreement moved across the road. The warden yelled at Peter and pushed him hard to the ground, where he landed on his right side. At first, he felt no pain, but bruising appeared later, and he felt discomfort for a week.

Peter, diagnosed with leukemia in 2021, saw a doctor about the pain. Doctors found several fractures running down the right side of his body. He needs another CT scan soon to assess the full extent of damage. Havering Council got contacted for their view.

Police said they knew of the event: a man hurt on Straight Road who said he got pushed over and fell backward. He went to the hospital with a hip injury from the fall. The case closed because of no witnesses, and CCTV was unavailable. If new proof emerges, the investigation could restart.
