Keith Edun, 47, received a 21-year sentence for encouraging child rape and distributing abhorrent images.

Edun encouraged the rape of a child and shared awful images of kids. He faced two other charges involving creating those images. Plus, he tried to mess with the investigation.
A detective, Phil Govett, worked on the case. He said Edun is very dangerous and put kids at great risk. Edun tried to hide his crimes, even deleting an app before police arrived.
The police looked closely at Edun’s phone and found disturbing stuff. Now, he’s in jail for a long time, which means he cannot hurt any more kids.
Detectives started investigating in 2021, focusing on child sexual abuse. They learned awful images were posted online by someone on the ‘Kik’ app.
The ‘Kik’ account led back to Edun’s house. Police got a warrant in September 2021. They took his phones and computers and found he hid his ‘Kik’ use.
Another police force had a different case where a man raped a baby in 2020. That police force checked the man’s devices and saw he talked to Edun’s ‘Kik.’ Edun told the man to commit the rape.
Edun was arrested back in October 2023 and stayed in jail until his trial. This past Friday, he got his sentence: thirteen years in prison with eight extra years of supervision. They called him a dangerous offender.
He must follow rules for the rest of his life due to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and is on the Sex Offenders Register forever.
The judge said Edun really wanted to hurt kids and was interested in babies too. He said Edun is a big threat and could very much harm children.
Detective Govett made another point: Edun wasn’t there during the rape, but still, he caused great harm online. People encouraging such crimes are guilty too.
