Edward Ampeh sentenced to eight years for robberies on the DLR, including one in Greenwich where he assaulted a woman.

Edward Ampeh, who is 33, lived in Stratford. He was guilty of two robberies, and the court sentenced him at Inner London Crown Court.
On May 6, 2022, Ampeh followed a woman at Greenwich DLR station. He yelled at her, made threats, and forced her toward platform railings.
The woman turned, and Ampeh hit her head from behind. He followed her down the stairs, repeatedly asking what was in her bag. She gave him a charger and money.
He then wanted to know where she lived and asked for her number via email. Plus, he told her to follow him on Instagram before leaving.
On June 5, 2022, Ampeh grabbed a woman’s bag at Limehouse DLR. He yanked on her handbag strap hard, and she screamed and tried to pull it back.
She fell down the stairs while struggling, hurting her leg when she landed. Ampeh searched her bag on the floor before running, then threw her bag away.
Ampeh didn’t feel bad in the police interview, saying he knew nothing about it. But on November 4, a court found him guilty.
DC Tom Bolton investigated the case carefully and said he was very happy with the result. Ampeh hurt lone women, and the victims will remember this forever. He hopes this helps them heal.
