Omar Wilson, who called himself a “monster,” jailed for life for fatally beating chef Mussie Imnetu in London.

Mussie Imnetu, 41, died in the hospital without waking up. He had worked for famous chefs. They included Gordon Ramsay and Marcus Wareing. The judge gave Wilson at least 18 years, calling it a horrible crime.
The judge said Mussie was defenseless when Wilson punched and kicked him. The judge noted Wilson’s temper, stating that Wilson tripped Mussie, who fell. The judge said Wilson could have stopped, but instead he punched Mussie’s head and then kicked his head hard.
Mussie’s wife, Linda, spoke about how loved and admired he was. She asked the court to remember Mussie and to recall his character and life.
A recording of Mussie’s six-year-old son saying goodbye to his dad was played, which the judge called very sad. CCTV showed Wilson headbutting Mussie and punching his head many times. He also kicked Mussie’s head when he was down.
Wilson said he was defending himself, claiming Mussie had a broken bottle. The judge said this was a lie. Wilson told someone he “crossed the line” and that a “monster” came out, feeling like he ruined everything.
