Kenneth Glaister, age 63, attacked his ex-partner. He has no permanent address currently. The court learned Glaister grabbed her hair and then punched her over thirty times.

This happened on August 20, 2023 in Weymouth. They were drinking together early that day and stayed at a local guest house. Annabell Hazlitt, the prosecutor, told the court the details.

The woman said Glaister turned aggressive quickly, using harsh words and demanding she leave. She exited but needed to return for her glasses. As she retreated, Glaister seized her hair and punched the back of her head.

Ms. Hazlitt stated the punches were forceful, causing her dentures to fall out during the attack. Staff claimed it was the most blood they’d seen. An ambulance arrived after she found help, revealing she had a broken nose and swelling.

She also had bruises on her face and body. The woman felt ashamed to look at herself and couldn’t visit her sick mother because her appearance was not presentable. Her mother suffers from dementia.

Almost a year later, on August 22, 2024, something else occurred. She found his business cards at her home in Lychpit, Basingstoke. Her neighbor had doorbell camera footage.

The footage showed him stealing a hanging basket and spray painting a rude word on her fence. Police later found him inside his car with open alcohol cans and a large knife against his stomach.

Nadia Chbat, representing Glaister in court, said alcohol caused issues, leading to their five-year relationship spinning out badly. Glaister wanted to end his own life back then and armed himself to do it.

Judge Robert Pawson called it a savage and very persistent attack. He said Glaister gave his partner a hiding. The hanging basket theft was a small act, but it increased the intimidation.

Glaister pled guilty to several charges, including assault and property damage. He admitted to theft, intimidating a witness, knife possession, and drunk driving.

He received a prison sentence of two years and cannot drive for two and a half years. A restraining order protects the woman for 10 years, keeping Glaister away from her.
