The RNLI lifeboat got there fast and pulled the person from the water quickly. Three swimmers were helping, using buoys to keep the person afloat.
The ambulance took over caring for the person then. Sadly, the police later said the man died after being rescued from the sea on Monday, February 24.
Police and other emergency teams went to the seafront scene around 4:30 pm. The man’s family knows what happened, and police are not treating it as suspicious.
The RNLI said they launched fast on February 24 after reports of someone in the water. The lifeboat crew rescued the person, with swimmers helping before their arrival.
Many groups responded to the emergency, coordinated by the Coastguard. A rescue helicopter, paramedics, and police were also present.
