Cops saved a guy from a sinking car. The car went off the road into a pond. It happened in Heveningham, near Halesworth. It was around 1:20 AM on Sunday.

A BMW X7’s system sent an alert that the car had crashed. The driver told the operator about the pond, explaining that the water rose inside the car quickly, and he couldn’t escape.

He was trapped in an air pocket in the trunk. Police found the car almost underwater and threw him a rope. He grabbed it, and they pulled him out.

They rescued him from the car and pulled him from the water. Medics and firemen showed up, too, and the man went to the hospital for a checkup before being released.

A police inspector said officers were quick to respond and found the submerged car in the dark. She noted that they acted fast to rescue the driver, believing they surely saved his life.

The driver got arrested at first for not giving a breath sample. Later, he gave blood at the hospital, and he is still being investigated as they are waiting for the blood test results.
