Dylan Pilkington threw glasses in a bar fight, injuring Joel Houldsworth, who needed stitches and dental work.

Dylan Pilkington threw a glass during the brawl. The fight occurred near the restrooms, and Pilkington was knocked down a few times but did not start it.
To escape, Pilkington climbed onto a bench near the bar. He then threw five pint glasses into the crowd, and one glass hit Joel Houldsworth in the face.
Houldsworth left the bar bleeding and went to the hospital for treatment. He had deep cuts on his lip and near his eye, and the lip injury and teeth damage made talking hard.
His lip needed thirteen stitches, and the eye cut required six more stitches. Houldsworth had to sleep with a towel because his cuts would bleed onto his pillow otherwise.
Solid food was off-limits for weeks, and he could only drink through a straw. He only took one week off work despite being advised to take more.
He had to use holiday time for dental work and therapy. Pilkington’s lawyer, Bob Elias, said his client was scared and that Pilkington regretted hitting Houldsworth.
The judge, Ayesha Siddiqi, commented on reckless actions and noted Pilkington lost control due to alcohol. Houldsworth’s confidence was affected by the incident.
Pilkington admitted to causing wounding but had no intent to harm Houldsworth though. The court sentenced him to twelve months in jail.
