Jason Flore stabbed Stephanie Marie at a train station. He was found guilty of murder after claiming self harm.

Flore, 26, lied about what happened, claiming Stephanie stabbed herself. Jurors didn’t believe him and found him guilty of murder after deliberating for three hours. The trial occurred at Hove Crown Court.
The murder happened on August 18 at a busy train station. The couple had a child together. People witnessed them arguing on a bridge where Flore acted aggressively toward Stephanie, who looked upset before the stabbing. Flore then ran away.
CCTV showed him walking calmly with Stephanie’s blood on him. Flore called 999 after the attack, saying someone got stabbed and wasn’t breathing. He told police he knew Stephanie, but they weren’t partners, reporting, “She had stabbed herself.”
Police arrived with guns, and Flore told them, “She did it to herself.” They instructed him to tie up his barking dog first. Then, officers forced Flore onto the ground.
Stephanie’s family shared their sadness, describing her as a loving person, a daughter, sister, and mother. Her life ended too soon. She loved basketball, football, and gymnastics, and they miss her very much.
Flore will get his prison sentence soon. Detective Superintendent Sam Blackburn spoke about the case, saying Stephanie’s life was stolen and that she was a much-loved person who loved sports and music, especially guitar, and had dreams to be a hairdresser.
Blackburn thanked the investigation team, stating that justice was served. It is important to remember Stephanie instead of Flore. The verdict won’t bring her back, but he hopes her family finds peace.
