A fire broke out at a house on Gateshead Close in Manchester around 12:35 pm. Firefighters arrived quickly at the house and put out the fire right away.

Firefighters rescued a four-year-old girl who had serious injuries from the fire. The little girl went to the hospital, but sadly, she died soon after arriving.

Police arrested a 44-year-old woman, suspecting her of arson and intending to endanger life. Police say the woman knew the child and officers stated that the public isn’t in danger.

The police have a cordon around the house and are still investigating everything there. A detective shared her condolences with the girl’s family and friends.
