Funeral scheduled for Marcus Meade. He was shot by police Christmas Eve in Redditch. The service is this Thursday in Birmingham.

His funeral is this Thursday, February 27th, at 10:30 a.m. The location is The Assemblies of the First Born Church on Lozells Road in Birmingham.
Deborah Clarke is Marcus’ mom and is recovering from a stroke. She feels it is wrong to bury her son, believing Marcus needed help, nothing else.
Anthony Meade is Marcus’ dad, and he feels the situation is messed up. He said they shouldn’t plan a funeral, but they will bury Marcus with dignity.
Dr. Desmond Jaddoo MBE will conduct the service and chairs the Justice 4 Marcus Meade campaign. Funerals are never easy, he explained, and this one is harder because of the circumstances. The family still has unanswered questions.
Mourners can wear blue; Neptune or baby blue are suggested colors. They can wear any blue accessory if they are able to do so.
An investigation started, with the IOPC investigating the shooting. They gathered accounts from police officers at the scene and spoke to senior command officers.
The IOPC is reviewing video footage, including hours of footage captured by police body-worn cameras. They received analysis of police weapons and noted officers were outside his home for hours.
Mr. Meade’s family made complaints involving police actions that day. The IOPC will examine these complaints.
