Fire engulfed the former King Edward VII pub on Dane Valley Road. It is currently under investigation.

The fire started after midnight, and people shared wild pictures online showing flames ripping through the pub. Firefighters arrived at 12:28 AM to find the pub totally wrecked. Windows shattered, and smoke damage is everywhere.
Firefighters put out the flames fast, using buckets and four fire engines. Two people went to the hospital as a precaution, to check everyone out.
The fire might have started inside, and occupants in the building could be responsible. It does not seem like a crime. Fire crews left around 12:42 AM.
The King Edward VII closed back in 2014 and has looked awful ever since. There were plans to make it into apartments, but Thanet District Council is still deciding.
The pub acquired its drink permit in 1912, replacing a small local shop. Thompson Brewery owned it at first, before Shepherd Neame took over later.
