Plans submitted to demolish Bethel Methodist Church and replace it with two three bedroom houses with parking.

The plan is to put two houses there, each with three bedrooms, a garage, gardens, and patios.
The developer applied on January 31. The church’s entrance will stay, but they will widen it for parking with one space for each house. The homes will have four stories and include a bike store and a refuge area.
They will cut down one tree, but other trees on the land will stay. The developer thinks this helps the area by providing housing without hurting the surroundings. The church has been empty since last July.
The Lantern Community Church now hosts services near the old church. Other activities also moved and now happen at St Mary’s Church, with the village hall also hosting events.
The church is one story tall and sits before some steep, wild land. Neighbors can share views until March 11. The council will decide by April 11.
The developer believes the new plan improves things. The houses will better fit the street because they think the church looks out of place and the new homes have a better design.
