A man in his 60s was found hurt near Cromer. It happened at Blossom Hill in Matlaske on March 1st. The time was around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.

A villager brought a defibrillator to help, but ambulances were already there when they arrived. Paramedics tried to save the cyclist’s life. Sadly, he died at the location.

Police think a hit-and-run may have caused his death. Another vehicle may have hit him, and that car did not stop after the collision. Flowers were placed at the site on March 3rd.

Reverend David Longe shared his sadness about the event. He said he is praying for everyone involved and is ready to help however he can. The village defibrillator went to the scene.

The route is popular for bike riders, and the man was likely heading toward Holt. Reverend Longe called the area beautiful. This makes the event even more tragic, he noted.

One villager called the event awful, as many cyclists pass through the village regularly. Another person said the roads could be risky because winter roads have muck and can be slippery.

Amanda Yacoubian works for the local council. She said they are sad and thinking of his family. They await the police’s findings about the death’s cause.

Norfolk Police are still investigating his death and think another vehicle may not have stopped. They want information or dashcam footage. Call 101 and mention NC-01032025-225.

Officers seek anyone with information and want to speak with people who saw a damaged car nearby. Call 101 and mention reference number NC-01032025-225 if you know anything.
