Developer seeks to transform former preschool into six apartments after previous plan was rejected.

Building A was the main school building. The plan includes one three-bedroom flat there, along with two two-bedroom and two one-bedroom flats. Building B is a single-story structure. It would be converted into one two-bedroom home.
The council rejected a similar plan last year because Shelley Clark said it lacked safe access details. The council also worried about natural light, fearing the flats might not receive enough.
An agent working for Planning Insight argues they fixed the problems. They say fewer trips occur compared to when it was a school. The plan incorporates twelve parking spots for cars.
This project needs prior approval because the buildings are currently offices. They can become homes with certain permissions. Quentin Trivor needs council approval to ensure good living conditions for future residents.
The old preschool is sealed up right now. People explored it and made videos. The videos show damage and graffiti inside. You can find four videos on YouTube documenting the school’s poor state.
The council worried about natural light previously. Boards cover the windows, preventing views, which made evaluating the light difficult. The vandalism led to the boarding up of the windows.
The agent said they would replace the windows using a like-for-like approach. This replacement does not need planning permission, they stated, and the building’s exterior would stay similar.
The Meadowbrook school moved in 2018 from Bracknell Road to Malt Hill. It merged with a junior school there. That school in Malt Hill closed in 2023. A new school now operates there.
