Three members of the 5th Middleton Guides achieved the highest honor in Guiding, the Gold Award.

Amelia-Mae talked about her award experience, saying she learned how to persevere. She wanted to join Rangers afterward. Guides were a fun place to relax where she chilled with friends weekly.
Sophia also shared her thoughts. She developed her skills and grew her knowledge in different subjects. The award challenged her, and she tried new things that were outside her comfort zone.
Guides gave her a safe space where she socialized with friends and developed key life skills. These skills will help her later. Sophia looks forward to getting her Rangers Gold Award.
Annabel enjoyed the badges and activities. She did them with her Guiding friends and with her Guiding sisters. Guides gave her great trips; she went camping and to Disney too. She thanked all her Guide leaders, saying they helped her a lot.
The 5th Middleton group meets Fridays at South Leeds URC Church, which is on Nesfield Road in Belle Isle. Rainbows are for ages 4-7, Brownies are for ages 7-10, Guides are for ages 10-14, and Rangers are for ages 14-18.
