Kimberley Trelfa, 37, avoided jail for sharing a sexual photo of her ex on Christmas Day, receiving a suspended sentence.

The court learned Trelfa, 37, knew the victim and they previously had a relationship. She shared photos after it ended on Christmas Day, 2023. She sent them to the man’s family.
At first, Trelfa denied the charge. However, she then pleaded guilty on February 14, the day of her trial. The hearing paused for a report to assess her before sentencing.
Magistrates considered her late guilty plea when deciding on her sentence. They consequently sentenced Trelfa to 18 weeks in jail, suspended for a year.
The magistrates stated that the offense was very serious and only jail could be justified. She shared photos with his family, causing a lot of distress. As result, a custodial sentence was necessary.
The court was able to suspend the sentence, however believing she could improve her life. They also stated she has a good chance at rehabilitation.
Besides the suspended jail time, they added a 12-month restraining order. Trelfa can’t contact the victim or the family member, either directly or indirectly by any means of contact. She also must do rehabilitation up to 20 days of activity.
