Langton Flowers in Mildenhall faces business disruption with no phone service before Valentine’s Day, risking crucial sales.

Julie has run the shop for thirteen years. On February 5th, she switched providers from TalkTalk to XLN, wanting a cheaper phone and internet service. Since the switch, her shop’s landline stopped working. She can’t make or receive calls on it, and Julie and her family have tried to fix it without success.
The shop is asking customers to call her mobile phone and using their website and social media to spread the word. A local radio station, Zack FM, is also helping. Most orders come in via the landline, so this poses a significant issue.
Julie said the timing is awful with Valentine’s Day near, stating this problem could destroy her business. The stress is more than she can handle, as a good Valentine’s Day helps support her business all year. Her shop lacks an online store, making it difficult for regular customers to order easily unless they are aware of the phone issue. Therefore, they cannot reach her, and so they could use her mobile or visit, and elderly customers worried the shop had closed.
Julie’s daughter, Ella, who has worked with her mom for ten-plus years, is helping spread the word on social media. They repeatedly asked customers not to call the landline. Julie and her husband Darren have spent hours on the problem, contacting TalkTalk and XLN. They are frustrated by the lack of help, as each company blames the other one.
She described their actions as very disappointing, feeling there is no accountability. Julie keeps getting transferred to different departments, each acting like it is someone else’s fault, and she thinks the situation is unacceptable. TalkTalk and XLN have been asked to comment.
