Mold is having a big cleanup soon. It lasts two weeks, from March 24 to April 6. March 29 is “Super Saturday” for picking up litter. Springy, the mascot, encourages everyone to help.

Businesses, schools, and groups should clean their areas. This is the 16th year for this project. It might be the biggest one in Wales.

The goal is to clean streets and parks. They want Mold to be a nicer place. Mold is a great town, and they want help. People can volunteer for an hour or two. They really want this year to be the best ever. They encourage residents to participate. They want schools and businesses there too.

Mold Town Council organizes the clean. Keep Wales Tidy helps, along with other groups. On Super Saturday, they will sort trash. They’ll separate what can be recycled. Last year, they measured the recyclable litter. Now they have a way to check progress.

Stephen Maund talked about recycling plastic. Dirty plastics cannot be recycled. They will wash some items on March 29. Then they can recycle these items. They will repurpose some items to show reuse.

Carolyne Prew discussed remolding plastic waste. They will do this in Daniel Owen Square. People can help; they will make items. It shows how waste can be reused effectively.

The Spring Clean counts toward a bigger campaign. Surfers Against Sewage runs this campaign. It aims to clean UK beaches and rivers. For details, visit www.sas.org.uk/plastic-pollution/million-mile-clean/.
