Monmouthshire celebrates its volunteers who contribute vital services and protect vulnerable residents.

Council leader Mary Ann Brocklesby spoke, emphasizing the importance of volunteers. She noted that they help provide vital services and protect our most vulnerable people. She thanked them for their time and dedication.
Jenny Powell from The Gathering and Morgan Collins, a youth volunteer, both spoke at the event. Bryn Probert from a veterans hub and Alison Palmer from Gwent charities also attended.
MonLife benefited from many volunteers; three hundred seventy people volunteered between April and September. They filled forty-three roles, contributing over six thousand hours.
Some MonLife sports volunteers progressed, with nineteen securing summer jobs in 2024. Councillor Angela Sandles also spoke, stating that volunteers are the community’s heart.
Volunteers range from 16 to 94 years old, each bringing unique skills and energy. Acknowledging their real economic value, she thanked every single volunteer for their contributions.
