Food project distributes easy-to-make curry kits to support residents facing food poverty and boost well-being.

The kits contain sweet potato, chickpeas, and spinach. People can easily cook a warm, nourishing meal. It’s meant to make their day better. The group delivered the kits to several places, including Cwtch Angels and food clubs. Pobl Group and community fridges got kits too.
This project follows two earlier meal kit drives. They gave noodle kits for National Noodle Day. Rowse Honey helped with that effort on October 6, 2024. Apple streusel kits went out for National Apple Day, which occurred on October 21, 2024.
Volunteers gathered apples for the streusel. They rescued 100 kilograms of windfall apples from two local orchards: Laurie James and Mardy Park.
One person tried the kit and gave feedback. They said the meal was perfect, fast, easy, and very tasty, and that they plan to make the meal again.
Angela Sandles spoke about the project, calling the kits a fantastic idea to help residents struggling with food poverty. As the council member for equalities, she added that the recipe is simple, the meal tastes good and offers nutrition, and building connections supports vulnerable people.
