Hey, something happened with the trains. All trains between Wareham and Weymouth got canceled because someone was hit by a train around 10:40 this morning.

The British Transport Police are handling the situation. They said sadly, the person died, and the incident happened near Moreton Railway Station. Police do not think anything suspicious occurred and are preparing a file for the coroner now.

The power to the tracks was shut off between Wareham and Weymouth around 12:15 PM. This allows emergency crews the space they need to work safely, and trains will likely be disrupted until 5 PM tonight.

South Western Railway mentioned the incident. Their teams are helping the emergency services and have to cut power to the tracks to allow emergency services access to the area. They apologize for the delays.

Trains from London Waterloo to Weymouth will only go to Wareham and then start back from Wareham. While the trains are disrupted, you can use your train tickets on other services.

You can hop on Great Western Railway trains that run between Weymouth and London Paddington. Several First Bus routes also accept tickets, including routes X51, X54, and 10. Morebus routes M1, M2, 16, 17, and 20 are options too. Replacement buses are running between Wareham and Weymouth, and some buses run faster, stopping at Wool and Dorchester South, which started around noon today.
